Lesson Plan: Charging and Discharging Circuits with Multiple Capacitors Physics
This lesson plan includes the objectives and prerequisites of the lesson teaching students how to determine the charges and voltages of capacitors in multicapacitor circuits when they charge and discharge.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- combine the equations for individual capacitor characteristics, characteristics of capacitor combinations, and the charging and discharging characteristics of individual and combined capacitors to determine instantaneous values of potential difference across specific capacitors in capacitor combination circuits when charging and discharging of capacitors occurs,
- combine the equations for individual capacitor characteristics, characteristics of capacitor combinations, and the charging and discharging characteristics of individual and combined capacitors to determine instantaneous values of charge stored by specific capacitors in capacitor combination circuits when charging and discharging of capacitors occurs,
- combine the equations for individual capacitor characteristics, characteristics of capacitor combinations, and the charging and discharging characteristics of individual and combined capacitors to determine instantaneous values of current in branches of these circuits during charging and discharging.
