Prerequisites

Students should already be familiar with

  • identifying the circulatory, digestive, urinary, nervous, and respiratory systems in the human body,
  • describing the basic functions of the circulatory, digestive, urinary, nervous, and respiratory systems.

Exclusions

Students will not cover

  • the functions of specific parts of the digestive system except the mouth,
  • body systems other than the digestive system,
  • how the body uses nutrients from food.
