Objectives
Students will be able to
- add a two-digit number to a two-digit number without regrouping using place value models,
- add a two-digit number to a two-digit number without regrouping using place value charts,
- use place value language to describe adding a two-digit number to a two-digit number without regrouping,
- solve word problems that involve adding two-digit numbers without regrouping.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- modeling numbers up to 100 using place value blocks,
- writing numbers up to 100 in place value tables,
- adding a one-digit number to a two-digit number without regrouping.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- regrouping when adding,
- sums greater than 100.
