Objectives

Students will be able to

  • read and write four-digit numbers using standard form,
  • read and write four-digit numbers in expanded form,
  • read and write four-digit numbers in word form,
  • read and write four-digit numbers in terms of place value.

Prerequisites

Students should already be familiar with

  • place value of 4-digit numbers,
  • representing 4-digit numbers using visual models,
  • representing 3-digit numbers in standard form, expanded form, and word form and in terms of place value.

Exclusions

Students will not cover

  • comparing or ordering 4-digit numbers.
