Lesson Plan: The Past Simple Passive English
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to use the past simple passive to talk about education in the past and Charlotte Bronte.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- use the passive form of the past simple in its affirmative, negative, and interrogative forms,
- understand that the passive form is used when the object is more important than the subject or when the subject is unknown,
- understand when to use the active or the passive voice in the past simple,
- understand that verbs without objects cannot be used in the passive voice.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- the past simple,
- irregular verbs.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- the past continuous passive,
- using get to create the passive voice,
- modal verbs in the past passive voice.
