Lesson Plan: Patterns of Earth’s Features
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to identify types of landforms and explain and compare the patterns of Earth’s surface features.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- identify and describe different types of landforms,
- identify and compare patterns of Earth’s features,
- explain why there are patterns in Earth’s features.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- the fact that different types of features exist on Earth’s surface,
- using maps to identify Earth’s features, including physical maps and topographic maps.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- details of how landforms are made,
- weathering and erosion.
