Lesson Plan: Projectile Motion Physics
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to analyze the motion of objects that move horizontally while undergoing constant vertical acceleration.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- use the following equations to relate the range, maximum altitude, and time of flight of projectiles to their launch speeds and angles: range = , maximum altitude = , and time of flight = .
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- graphs of projectile motion,
- forces acting on projectiles,
- energy transfers in projectile motion.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- quantitative treatment of drag.
