Lesson Plan: Kingdom Animalia: Invertebrates Biology
This lesson plan includes the objectives and prerequisites of the lesson teaching students how to recall the characteristics of different invertebrates within the animal kingdom.
Students will be able to
- describe invertebrates as organisms that do not have a vertebral column,
- describe the characteristics of organisms belonging to the following phyla: Porifera, Platyhelminthes, Nematoda, Annelida, Arthropoda, Mollusca, Cnidaria, and Echinodermata,
- classify organisms into phyla based on given descriptions.
Students should already be familiar with
- the concept that organisms can be classified into different kingdoms.
