Lesson Plan: The Liquid Column Manometer Physics • Second Year of Secondary School
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to describe the process of pressure measurement using the height of a liquid column in a U-shaped tube.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- recognize that the ratio of the column heights in a U-shaped tube is equal to the ratio of the pressures on the tops of the two columns,
- recognize that the difference between the column heights in a U-shaped tube is equal to differences of the pressures on the tops of the two columns.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- .
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- units of pressure other than pascal.
