Objectives
Students will be able to
- identify the plus and equal symbols as they appear in an addition equation,
- connect the plus and equal symbols to words,
- match an addition equation with a picture or story,
- match a picture or story with an addition equation,
- add within 10 using pictures, objects, and addition equations.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- the basic concepts of addition,
- the meanings of the word plus.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- sums greater than 10.
