Objectives
Students will be able to
- represent subtracting a multiple of one hundred from three-digit numbers using place value equipment,
- use place value language to describe subtracting a multiple of one hundred from a three-digit number,
- represent subtracting a multiple of one hundred from a three-digit number on a number line,
- complete part–whole models to find the result of subtracting multiples of one hundred from three-digit numbers,
- subtract a multiple of hundred from a three-digit number without using a model,
- determine what multiple of one hundred has been subtracted from a three-digit number.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- subtracting ones from three-digit numbers,
- subtracting tens from three-digit numbers.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- column subtraction,
- regrouping.
