Objectives

Students will be able to

  • understand that a linear equation has a unique solution,
  • determine whether simple equations are true or false,
  • form linear equations in one or two variables involving no more than two operations,
  • solve simple linear equations mentally.

Prerequisites

Students should already be familiar with

  • forming algebraic expressions,
  • adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing positive and negative integers.
