Objectives
Students will be able to
- divide whole numbers and decimal numbers by 10, 100, or 1 000 when the quotient is a decimal number with up to four decimal places,
- explain how the position of each digit changes when a number is divided by 10, 100, or 1 000.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- how the position of each digit changes when whole numbers are multiplied or divided by 10 or 100.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- dividing decimal fractions by 10, 100, or 1 000.
