Objectives
Students will be able to
- model multiplication of a three-digit number by a one-digit number using an area model,
- write numbers in expanded form and calculate partial products,
- record the steps of the method using equations.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- multiplying a two-digit number by a one-digit number using an area model,
- partitioning three-digit numbers in different ways.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- column multiplication.
