Lesson Plan: Mesauring to the Nearest Centimeter and Meter
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to find the length of the same object to both the nearest centimeter and the nearest meter.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- measure an object to the nearest meter,
- measure an object to the nearest centimeter,
- recognize that when the same object is measured in centimeters and meters, there are more centimeters because meters are larger.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- measuring objects in centimeters,
- measuring objects in meters,
- recognizing when it is appropriate to measure objects in centimeters or meters.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- converting units of measure.
