Lesson Plan: Methods of Asexual Reproduction Biology
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to distinguish between asexual and sexual reproduction and describe different ways that organisms asexually reproduce.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- distinguish between asexual and sexual reproduction,
- give examples of asexual reproduction, including binary fission, budding, regeneration, sporogony, parthenogenesis, and tissue culture.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- cell division (mitosis).
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- details of how the tissue culture process is done.
