Objectives
Students will be able to
- understand how the order of operations applies to expressions that contain negative numbers,
- evaluate numerical expressions that contain negative numbers in cases where the order of operations is important,
- formulate equivalent numerical expressions, which contain negative numbers, from a given word problem.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- the order of operations.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- expressions that contain exponents,
- decimals.
