Lesson Plan: Inverse Trigonometric Functions Mathematics • 10th Grade
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to calculate exact values of trigonometric inverses and how to evaluate compositions of trigonometric and inverse trigonometric functions at standard angles in radians.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- evaluate inverse trigonometric functions that result in standard angles in radians,
- evaluate sums and differences of inverse trigonometric functions,
- evaluate compositions of trigonometric and inverse trigonometric functions at standard angles in radians,
- rewrite trigonometric equations using trigonometric inverses.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- radians and degrees,
- evaluating trigonometric functions at standard angles.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- graphs of inverse trigonometric functions,
- inverse reciprocal trigonometric functions,
- the domain and range of inverse trigonometric functions.
