Lesson Plan: Properties of Kites
This lesson plan includes the objectives and prerequisites of the lesson teaching students how to use the properties of kites, the Pythagorean theorem, and the polygon interior angles sum theorem to find measures in kites.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- understand the properties of kites:
- a kite has exactly two pairs of consecutive congruent sides,
- the two diagonals of a kite are perpendicular to one another,
- a kite has exactly one pair of opposite angles that are congruent,
- solve problems using the properties of a kite.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- properties of parallelograms, rectangles, rhombuses, and squares.
