Lesson Plan: Ray Tracing
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to represent the paths of light rays that pass through regions of various media that have various shapes.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- interpret ray diagrams to identify parallel, converging, and diverging rays,
- interpret ray diagrams to identify the reflection and refraction of rays,
- identify the optical axes of objects.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- reflection,
- refraction.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- focusing by lenses,
- images.
