Lesson Plan: Stem Cells Biology

This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to recall the location and function of stem cells and explain how they can be used in medicine.

Students will be able to

  • state where stem cells are found,
  • describe the function of stem cells in plants and animals,
  • describe the potential benefits and risks of using stem cells in medicine,
  • outline how cell fractionation can be used to study the components of cells.
