Lesson Plan: Choosing Appropriate Units
This lesson plan includes the objectives and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to measure the same object with different nonstandard units and decide which of the two units is most appropriate.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- use different nonstandard units of measure to measure the same object,
- understand why measurements are different,
- choose the most appropriate unit to measure a given object.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- standard units of measure.
