Lesson Plan: Motion and Force
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to identify the effects that forces have on the motion of objects and describe forces as push or pull.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- define force,
- define motion,
- explain cause and effect as they relate to motion,
- identify the cause of a motion,
- categorize forces as push or pull.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- how nonliving objects move,
- different ways of applying forces.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- specific names of forces,
- balanced and unbalanced forces,
- force arrows,
- opposing forces,
- experiments investigating force and motion,
- how force affects the speed/direction of an object.
