Students should already be familiar with

  • dividing three-digit numbers by two-digit numbers using long division,
  • solving division calculations where there are remainders,
  • ways that a remainder affects the answer to a problem, depending on its context,
  • extending known multiplication facts up to 10×10 to related facts involving multiples of 10 and 100.

Exclusions

Students will not cover

  • dividing numbers with more than 3 digits by numbers with 2 digits,
  • divisions involving fractions or decimals.
