Lesson Plan: Motion of a Body on a Rough Plane Mathematics • Third Year of Secondary School
This lesson plan includes the objectives and prerequisites of the lesson teaching students how to study the motion of a particle on horizontal and inclined rough planes against friction force.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- understand the meaning of a frictional force,
- complete calculations for a body moving on a rough horizontal plane, including using the equations of motion and calculating resultant forces, friction, and the coefficient of friction,
- complete calculations for a body moving on a rough inclined plane, including using the equations of motion and calculating resultant forces, friction, and the coefficient of friction.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- the equations of motion,
- resultant forces.
