Lesson Plan: Applications of Linear Functions Mathematics • 9th Grade
This lesson plan includes the objectives, prerequisites, and exclusions of the lesson teaching students how to interpret linear functions in real-world situations.
Objectives
Students will be able to
- write the linear equation that describes a real-life situation, hence using the equation to solve problems,
- interpret aspects of a linear model using its graph.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- equations of straight lines,
- slope,
- - and -intercepts.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- approximating data that does not exactly fit a linear model.
