Objectives
Students will be able to
- represent multiplying one-digit numbers by 10, 100, and 1,000 with place value equipment,
- use place value knowledge to multiply one-digit numbers by multiples of 10, 100, and 1,000,
- use basic multiplication facts to multiply one-digit numbers by multiples of 10, 100, and 1,000,
- investigate patterns when multiplying one-digit numbers by multiples of 10, 100, and 1,000,
- solve problems involving multiplying one-digit numbers by multiples of 10, 100, and 1,000.
Prerequisites
Students should already be familiar with
- multiplying one digit by one-digit numbers,
- multiplying by multiples of 10 and 100,
- place values of four-digit numbers.
Exclusions
Students will not cover
- multiplying decimals.
