#### Objectives

Students will be able to

• represent multiplying one-digit numbers by 10, 100, and 1,000 with place value equipment,
• use place value knowledge to multiply one-digit numbers by multiples of 10, 100, and 1,000,
• use basic multiplication facts to multiply one-digit numbers by multiples of 10, 100, and 1,000,
• investigate patterns when multiplying one-digit numbers by multiples of 10, 100, and 1,000,
• solve problems involving multiplying one-digit numbers by multiples of 10, 100, and 1,000.

#### Prerequisites

Students should already be familiar with

• multiplying one digit by one-digit numbers,
• multiplying by multiples of 10 and 100,
• place values of four-digit numbers.

#### Exclusions

Students will not cover

• multiplying decimals.
