  • investigate patterns when multiplying one-digit numbers by multiples of 10, 100, and 1,000,
  • solve problems involving multiplying one-digit numbers by multiples of 10, 100, and 1,000.

Prerequisites

Students should already be familiar with

  • multiplying one digit by one-digit numbers,
  • multiplying by multiples of 10 and 100,
  • place values of four-digit numbers.

Exclusions

Students will not cover

  • multiplying decimals.
