Students will be able to

state that the aim of contraception is the prevention of pregnancy,
explain the use of the hormones estrogen and progesterone in contraception and the prevention of pregnancy,
evaluate hormonal and nonhormonal methods of contraception, including oral contraceptives, injections/implants, condoms, diaphragms, IUDs, and surgical methods of preventing pregnancy and reducing transmission of STIs.
