Lesson: Pitch of Sound Science

Students will be able to

• define pitch as how high or low a sound is,
• identify high- and low-pitched sounds,
• describe the relationship between the length, tightness, or thickness of a vibrating object and the pitch of the sound it makes,
• describe how to change the pitch of different musical instruments,
• link the speed of vibration to the pitch of a sound.
