Lesson: Reproduction Biology

Students will be able to

• recall that reproduction is the process by which new organisms are produced,
• outline that sexual reproduction requires two individuals and that a gamete (sex cell) of one organism will fertilize the gamete of another,
• outline that asexual reproduction only requires one individual and will produce offspring that are genetically identical to the parent,
• compare and contrast sexual and asexual reproduction in both plants and animals,
• explain the advantages and disadvantages of asexual and sexual reproduction.
