Lesson: The Female Reproductive System Science

In this lesson, we will learn how to describe the main structures of the female reproductive system, and explain how they are adapted to carry out their functions.

Lesson Plan

Students will be able to

  • describe the components of the female reproductive system, including the ovaries, oviducts/fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, and vagina,
  • outline the functions of the components of the female reproductive system,
  • describe the role of the ciliated cells in moving the ovum along the fallopian tubes,
  • describe the role of female hormones in controlling the development of secondary sexual characteristics and aiding pregnancy.
