Students will be able to

know what the universe is,
know that the universe began with the Big Bang,
know that the Big Bang occurred approximately 14 billion years ago,
know that the initial state of the universe had a very high pressure, temperature, and density,
know that the universe is constantly expanding,
know that in the early universe, only light elements such as hydrogen and helium formed,
know that over time, gravity began to form galaxies,
know that galaxies appear to be moving apart with the expansion of space.
