In this lesson, we will learn how to work out nth roots of integers, where n is a positive integer greater than or equal to 2.

Students will be able to

  • evaluate numerical expressions involving the 𝑛th root of an integer,
  • understand that 𝑎 is the inverse operation to 𝑎; hence, (𝑎)=𝑎,
  • understand that if 𝑛 is even, then 𝑎 is positive by definition.
