Lesson: Up Quarks and Down Quarks Physics

Students will be able to

• recall that protons and neutrons are not fundamental particles,
• recall that protons and neutrons are made of up quarks and down quarks,
• recall that up quarks and down quarks are fundamental particles,
• recall that there are 2 up quarks and 1 down quark in a proton,
• recall that there are 2 down quarks and 1 up quark in a neutron,
• recall the symbols for up and down quarks,
• recall the relative charges of up and down quarks,
• work out the relative charge of composite particles made of up and down quarks.
