Lesson Plan

Students will be able to

  • define what habitats are and why they are important for living things,
  • understand that habitats vary in size,
  • identify and compare different types of land habitats, including grasslands, forests, deserts, and arctic tundras,
  • understand what is meant by the term diverse with respect to habitats,
  • understand that living things are adapted for the habitats they live in,
  • recognize examples of these adaptations.
