Students will be able to
- define producers as organisms that make their own food and consumers as organisms that eat other organisms,
- understand that the arrows in a food chain/food web show the direction of energy transfer,
- describe a food chain as the transfer of energy between organisms, from producers to consumers, and calculate the percentage efficiency of energy transfers,
- describe a food web as a set of connected food chains and identify producers, consumers, herbivores, omnivores, and carnivores.
