Lesson: Triangle Midsegment Theorems Mathematics • First Year of Preparatory School

Students will be able to

• understand and prove that the straight line segment passing through the midpoint of one side of a triangle that is also parallel to another side of the triangle bisects the third side of the triangle,
• understand and prove that the straight line segment connecting the midpoints of two sides of a triangle is parallel to the other side and is half its length,
• use the triangle midsegment theorems to solve problems,
• prove geometric properties using the triangle midsegment theorems.
