Lesson: Equations of Straight Lines Mathematics

Students will be able to

• find the equation of a line in point–slope form given
  • a point on the line and the slope of the line,
  • two points on the line,
• find the equation of a line in general form given two points on the line,
• find the equation of a line given the slope or one point on the line and given that another point on the line is
  • an - or -intercept of another line,
  • the intersection point of two other lines,
• find the equation of a line that passes through the - and -intercepts of two other lines.
