Lesson: Word Problems: Taking From Mathematics • First Year of Primary School

In this lesson, we will learn how to solve problems to find the number of objects that are left after objects are taken from a group of up to 10 objects.

Lesson Plan

Students will be able to

use images to solve “taking from” word problems,
use objects to model how to take from a starting number in order to solve a problem,
express problems as subtraction equations and then solve these equations.
