In this lesson, we will learn how to describe the steps of the link reaction and the Krebs cycle and recall the products of each.

Lesson Plan

Students will be able to

describe the steps of the link reaction and state the products formed,
summarize the events of the Krebs cycle as the formation of citric acid (citrate) from carbon dioxide and oxaloacetic acid, the formation of 5 carbon and 4 carbon compounds, and the regeneration of oxaloacetic acid (oxaloacetate),
describe the role of acetyl coenzyme A, FAD, NAD, and ADP in the Krebs cycle,
state the products of the Krebs cycle as being carbon dioxide, reduced FAD, reduced NAD, and ATP.
