Lesson: Representing Sequences Mathematics

In this lesson, we will learn how to represent a sequence as a function of a positive integer variable called an index (n).

Lesson Plan

Students will be able to

write an expression for the term of a given geometric or arithmetic sequence,
write an expression for the term of a given arithmetic sequence when given any numbered term and the common ratio,
write an expression for the term of a geometric sequence when given any numbered term and the common ratio,
find any numbered term of a sequence when given an expression for the term,
write out a sequence when given an expression for the term.
