Lesson: Applying Mathematical Skills Chemistry

Students will be able to

• write and calculate ratios, fractions, and percentages and convert between them,
• calculate the areas, surface areas, and volumes of simple shapes such as squares, rectangles, triangles, and cubes,
• identify the radius and diameter of a circle and use these to calculate the area and circumference,
• explain the use of positive and negative indices and calculate their values,
• explain simple probability and calculate the probability of simple problems within a chemistry context.
