Lesson: Earthquakes Geology and Ecology • Third Year of Secondary School

Students will be able to

• explain how earthquakes occur and describe their effects,
• describe the different types of earthquakes, including volcanic, tectonic, and plutonic earthquakes,
• define what a seismic wave is and compare between the different types,
• understand and determine the location of an earthquake’s epicenter,
• understand how intensity and magnitude are used to measure earthquakes.
