Lesson: Hormonal Control Biology

Students will be able to

• define hormones as chemical messengers that travel through the bloodstream to act on target organs,
• recall that hormones are released by endocrine glands in the human body,
• identify the pituitary gland, pancreas, thyroid, adrenal gland, ovary, and testes in the human body and recall hormones released by these glands,
• describe the effects of the endocrine system as slow acting but long lasting.
