In this lesson, we will learn how to compare and order numbers with up to 10, 11, and 12 digits.

Lesson Plan

Students will be able to

  • partition numbers into billions, millions, thousands, and ones and compare the values of the parts,
  • use place value tables and part–whole models to identify the place value of each digit and compare numbers with 10, 11, and 12 digits,
  • compare numbers by considering the values of the digits,
  • order 10-, 11-, and 12-digit numbers from least to greatest and from greatest to least.
