In this lesson, we will learn how to identify and name carboxylic acids and describe their physical properties.

Students will be able to

identify the functional group and general structure of a carboxylic acid,
identify and name different types of carboxylic acids using classic and IUPAC nomenclature,
describe and explain the general properties of carboxylic acids, including drawing a comparison with the equivalent alcohol,
