Lesson: Transpiration Biology

Students will be able to

• describe the process of transpiration,
• explain the effect of temperature, humidity, wind, and light intensity on the rate of transpiration,
• describe the role of different plant structures in transpiration, including the xylem, stomata, and guard cells,
• outline how a potometer can be used to investigate the rate of transpiration and use this to calculate transpiration rates.
