Students will be able to
- state some of the functions of human hormones,
- describe the glands that are present in humans to be exocrine, endocrine, and mixed glands,
- compare amino acid-based hormones to steroid hormones in terms of structure and function,
- outline how scientists discovered animal hormones, including the contributions of Bernar and Starling and their work on the liver and pancreas,
- recall examples of gastrointestinal hormones and their role in the body.
