Lesson: Hormonal Control in Humans Biology • Third Year of Secondary School

Students will be able to

• state some of the functions of human hormones,
• describe the glands that are present in humans to be exocrine, endocrine, and mixed glands,
• compare amino acid-based hormones to steroid hormones in terms of structure and function,
• outline how scientists discovered animal hormones, including the contributions of Bernar and Starling and their work on the liver and pancreas,
• recall examples of gastrointestinal hormones and their role in the body.
