In this lesson, we will learn how to describe and model the distribution of water on Earth and how much of this can be used by humans.

Lesson Plan

Students will be able to

  • identify sources and the relative proportion of salt water, fresh water, frozen water and liquid water on Earth,
  • interpret tables and diagrams illustrating the distribution of water on Earth,
  • model different proportions of water using a graduated cup,
  • identify the proportion of water that is unusable and why.
