Lesson: Appropriate Data Display Mathematics

Students will be able to

• identify the most appropriate type of diagram to display given data from among the following:
  • pie charts,
  • bar charts,
  • scatter plots,
  • line graphs,
  • Venn diagrams,
  • stem and leaf diagrams,
  • box and whisker plots,
  • cumulative frequency diagrams,
  • frequency polygons,
• explain the strengths and weaknesses of each diagram type.
